What We Believe
The basis of our faith at All Saints’ can be best stated in the words of the Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Holy Trinity
We believe that God is three persons in one: God the Father (infinite, good, omnipotent); God the Son (Jesus, the union of both God and human being; whose life, death and resurrection set us free from sin and death) and God the Holy Spirit (God’s power of love moving within us).
We believe that salvation is the end of our separation from God and the beginning of a new eternal life, lived according to God’s will; and is given to us because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
We believe that the church is the people of God and all baptized people are its members. The church is One (one Body under one Head, Christ); Holy (the Holy Spirit dwells in it and its members); Catholic (universal; holding the faith for all time, everywhere, for everyone) and Apostolic (continuing in the Apostles’ teaching and fellowship).
